Iris Flowers - Growing, Facts and History

The iris flower is a genus of approximately 200 species of flowering plants with beautiful showy flowers. The iris has been around for centuries and gets it’s name for the Greek word for “rainbow”. This is based on the wide variety of colors found in the iris species. It is named after the Greek Goddess who is thought to be the messenger of love and used the rainbow to travel.  Read more
